The league will be on break over the holidays. We are resuming games on Saturday, January 4th.

We have retiered Division A and B. With that comes schedule changes.

Please see your team schedule and note any changes. There are a few teams that have changes to their game time or location this Saturday, November 30.

There will likely be one more retiering update that will happen prior to or after the Christmas Break.

REMINDER (from Oct.7)

1. All players and goalies will be required to have BNQ/CE certified neck protection (undergarments with built-in BNQ/CE certified neck protection are acceptable). Any player without certified neck protection will not be allowed to participate.

2. As a general rule, equipment in disrepair will be considered inadequate and participation will be revoked. For example: gloves cannot have holes in the palms or fingers.

The date of implementation for these new equipment rules will be Friday, November 1, 2024. This grace period will allow all participants to acquire equipment as needed to meet our policies.

As a reminder, any player found in infraction of any equipment violation will not be allowed to participate. A player found violating these policies during a game will receive a minor penalty and be ejected for illegal equipment.

Britannia is back up and running.

- The Women and Gender Diverse league will begin on Sunday October 20th.

- The schedule has been updated for the next few weeks.

There is an update to our equipment requirement policies. This is being implemented to increase safety for all participants.

An unfortunate situation has occurred in the league.

Britannia has a mechanical issue that will stop us from playing games there. We have cancelled all games at Britannia for the time being while Parks Board assesses the situation.

What does this mean for the league?

1. The Women and Gender Diverse Division that plays out of Britannia will be on hold until after Thanksgiving.

2. We have rescheduled a number of games in VACHL Coed to account for losing Britannia iceslots.

3. We have acquired icetime on Saturday nights at 10:15pm at Kitsilano Arena which will be used starting Saturday Sept.28.

4. Games after Thanksgiving have been removed from the schedule while the league determines how to proceed with the timeline of when Britannia may be back online.

5. Games after Thanksgiving will likely be changed due to having to push games up the schedule, factoring in whether Britannia can return to a state where we are able to play games there.

Notes for new players before your first game:

1) Bring a white and dark (black, navy, blue acceptable) with a screened or stitched on number. Numbers made of tape are not acceptable and you will not be allowed to play. They represent a serious safety hazard if they fall off your jersey. Once your jersey size and number for your team are collected by the team captain, the jerseys will be manufactured. It can take up to a month or more to receive them.

2) If you wear a half shield/visor, a mouthguard is required. You do not need a mouthguard if you wear a cage (but recommended).

3) Familiarize yourself with the rules of our league. They are likely different from other leagues you've played in.

5) Bring a good attitude! Games at the beginning of the season have a chance to be uneven or lopsided. There may be roster changes and you may be moved to a different team within the first 2 weeks of the season to address balance.

VACHL Coed Goalie Waitlist

Currently, only returning players have been assigned to their teams. Free agents are at the bottom of the page and will be assigned after evaluations this weekend.

The Schedule is posted to mid-November. Retiering and the schedule will be updated as we play though the season.

It is hard to determine where to place players without the evaluation so please make an effort to attend one of the times.

Also note that VACHL reserves the right to place you on any team in the league to create parity within the league or divisions. If you have any questions, please email us or you will be able to ask in person at the evaluation skate.

Registration for the 2024-2025 VACHL season will begin Thursday, July 11, 9am.

The season will start on Friday September 27 and end on Sunday March 16. We take breaks at Christmas and for some holidays (Thanksgiving, Halloween). Teams will play a total of 22 games.

Schedule is approximately 25% weeknights, 75% weekends.

*NEW* Women & Gender Diverse Division will be playing on Sundays at Britannia.

Important notes regarding registration:
- The league is first and foremost an intermediate and beginner league. It is meant for players who started playing in their adult years. The league has the right to remove players from the league or move them to new teams if the league programmers and coordinator deems that it would better serve league parity/balance.

*Note: as a general rule, players who have played growing up or exhibit a high level of skill may be removed from the league. If you think you may be too strong for a beginner/intermediate league, then this may not be the league for you.

- New players to the league will be required to attend an on-ice evaluation. You will be contacted via email prior to the start of the season to schedule a date and time (likely the weekend of September 21 and 22).

- We will try our best to fulfill team requests if possible but it is not a guarantee. We may contact you for clarification on small groups or requests.

- Teams that have too many requests and not enough spots on the team will be filled up based on players' date of registration (first come first serve basis).

- We do not accept full teams in the league. This league is for single players and small groups. As mentioned, we will try our best to keep small groups together but it is not guaranteed. Please put the names of the players you want to group with when you register.

Women & Gender Diverse - $610 (plus GST)
